Solar system generates a high DC voltage of hundreds of Volts or more during the day (regardless of the light intensity). This increases the risk of electric shock to personnel and DC ARC. Aged cables and improper installation may cause DC ARC and ultimately PV fire. 

However, traditional string inverters cannot cut off DC high voltage, shut off DC ARC and prevent solar fire.

When one solar module in a string is shaded or falsely installed, the entire string will be mismatched on power generation, thus giving rise to the Barrel Effect--decreasing the generation efficiency of the whole system. In the long run, the energy lost is huge.

Especially for solar systems on roofs with color steel tile and BIPV, it wastes lots of O&M cost, delays troubleshooting and causes loss to the system generation.

Traditional string inverters require all strings to be of the same length, the same module type and the same angle to the sun.
